Recently a video has been circulating online of three-year-old Hannah praying with her parents before bedtime. This is no “Now I lay me down to sleep” rehearsed kind of praying!
Hannah not only makes requests, but she makes declarations and praise. She starts off slowly, and then the passion begins to rise. She goes on for several minutes with her mom saying, “That’s right, Hannah. Yes, He is!” This little one is learning to be a spiritual powerhouse!
How a Powerhouse Prays
Many people are struggling with negative situations in their lives, and no doubt are praying about those concerns. It is right and proper to bring troubles to the Lord and to ask for His intervention.
“I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him.”~ Ps 142:2
To pour out your complaint is to completely express it with all the attending emotions. It is holding nothing back.
Next Step Past Complaint
But that is only one part of seeing resolution. Once you have fully poured out your complaint with all the frustration, anger, fear, bitterness, etc., it is time to stop complaining, whether in prayer, or to other people.
It is time to express confidence that God has heard you and that He is faithful. It is time to choose to encourage yourself in the Lord and let the words of faith come out of your mouth.
“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” ~ 1 Cor 16:13
Even when you do not understand how the situation will be changed, know that all things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23), and all things are possible with God. (Matt 19:26)
As you choose to remind yourself of His faithfulness, His promises, and His mercy, let bold declarations and praise come forth! Subdue fears by stirring up the faith that resides within, and begin to declare out loud how it shall be based upon Who He is and what He has said!
“You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.” ~ Job 22:28
Be bold and strong, giving glory to God! Repeat back the Scriptures. Personalize them:
“Lord, You will whistle for my children and they will be gathered together!” (Zech 10:8)
“What the enemy has meant for evil, You will turn for my good!” (Gen 50:20)
“I am strong and very courageous, for You, my God are with me!” (Josh 1:9)
“No weapon formed against me shall prosper!” (Is 54:17)
“My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus!” (Phil 4:19)
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life!” (Ps 23:6)
Keep making declarations until you are satisfied!
After Releasing Powerful Words
Oftentimes, the Holy Spirit will prompt a course of action that will move you closer to resolution. He may give you an idea or insight. Be sure to obey His leading.
If you have no other leading, just stand on His promises in patience. As you remember the situation, give thanks that He has heard you and a change is indeed happening, whether you see a change or not. We inherit the promises through faith AND patience (Heb 6:12).
Patience is not passivity. It is remaining fixed, unmoved by what does or does not appear to happen. Patience is reinforced by regular thinking and speaking the desired outcome and praising Him Who is faithful!
Patience will allow you to keep a rein on emotions.
In your patience possess ye your souls.(Luke 21:19 KJV)
Christians have a covenant with Almighty God through the Blood of Jesus Christ. Let your light shine to those without hope that they may also give glory to God and perhaps seek Him out.
You are a Spiritual Powerhouse!
I would enjoy hearing your testimonies of how God has answered your prayer!
